Position Overview:
The Chief Accountant will oversee and manage the company’s accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial statements and reports. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills to drive financial excellence and support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses in accordance with accounting principles and regulations. Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Accounting Operations: Supervise and manage daily accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll. Oversee the reconciliation of accounts and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, legal requirements, and company policies. Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with finance leadership to develop and manage budgets and financial forecasts. Provide insights and recommendations for financial planning and decision-making.
• Audit Management: Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes. Prepare and provide necessary documentation and responses to auditors. Implement audit recommendations to improve financial processes.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Oversee training and professional development for accounting staff.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the accounting function. Leverage technology to streamline accounting processes and reporting.
• Financial Analysis: Perform detailed financial analysis and provide insights into financial performance. Assist in identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for the organization.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial information and recommendations effectively to senior management and other stakeholders. Provide support and insights for strategic initiatives and decision-making.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred and is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven previous experience and background in Saudi accounting standards.
• Proven experience with financial software and accounting systems (e.g., ERP systems such as Microsoft dynamics, IFRS standards, etc.…).
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal abilities with a focus on team development.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
