Summary:
We are seeking a Backend Engineer who is enthusiastic about developing and expanding high-traffic, high-availability web applications. The ideal candidate should possess a strong passion for creating clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code. Working as part of a team, they will actively contribute to finding solutions that strike a balance between performance, cost, and quality. Previous experience in writing code for a 24x7 commercial service is highly desirable.
Our technology stack primarily consists of Python/Django, Javascript, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch. Our deployments are hosted on AWS.
Responsibilities:
- Build robust and performant user-facing web applications in Python/Django to support high-traffic websites.
- Develop APIs to cater to various platforms such as mobile apps, web UIs, webhooks, and data ingestion applications.
- Create and implement new features and functionalities to improve user experience and increase engagement.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure efficient response to business requirements and deliver high-quality software.
- Deliver high-quality code that is responsive, accessible, and mobile-friendly, following automated test/build/deploy practices.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of practical experience with Django.
- Proficiency in our core language: Python.
- Familiarity with, or a strong interest in learning, our core technologies: Django, Wagtail, PostgreSQL, and ElasticSearch.
- Willingness to delve into and efficiently work in every aspect of our technology stack.
