Senior Actuarial Analyst

We are hiring a Senior Actuarial Analyst within our Reinsurance & Actuarial Division in the Head Office in Lebanon to handle a regional role covering Lebanon & GCC markets.


Summary:

The Actuarial Analyst uses statistical models to analyze data and calculate the probability of and costs associated with certain events. Using Actuarial Techniques, he/she will build the pricing models, complete rate revisions, filings and indications while collaborating with Product Managers and other business partners. He/she also performs a strong portfolio management and analytical assessment, preparing the technical provisions at best estimate as well as at regulation requirements to feed the P&L and budgeting exercise.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce Technical Pricing for all products and lines of business
  • Embed Technical Price in underwriting decision to judge actual price & record deviations including discrepancies
  • Align motor and medical pricing review with local regulation
  • Ensure pricing review covers expected cost of claims, expenses, taxes, cost of reinsurance
  • Develop Actuarial Pricing Framework documenting the Technical Pricing methodology based on actuarial analysis and techniques
  • Perform analysis on peril and loss type and uses significant risk factors
  • Assess regular predictive accuracy of technical price versus observed claims experience
  • Develop Actuarial KPIs and tools to support all lines of business
  • Monitor monthly technical and sales results
  • Support regulators’ requests in all countries when needed
  • Reconcile database with financials on a quarterly basis
  • Put in place sound actuarial reserving techniques to ensure data validation and adequate provisions are reserved in the Company Balance Sheet
  • Analyze P&L on monthly basis to ensure performance as per the budget
  • Attends seminars related to her/his area of expertise as per the approved annual budget.


Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in insurance actuarial, mainly in Non-Life insurance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Actuarial Science, Master's degree is preferable
  • CII Diploma/Certificate is a plus
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent Excel Skills
  • Good Reporting capabilities
  • Good Analytical Skills
