Compliance Officer

II. ROLE

The company is currently looking for a Compliance Officer to join its Regional Team in Lebanon with the mission to

ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies across the company’s entities, and the proper and timely implementation, deployment, and dissemination of their compliance program across the Middle East region and in collaboration with compliance officers in the local entities.


III. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance requirements are up to date with changes in laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with compliance community, officers, BCC, Directors, Managers, and Country Managers to ensure adherence to business policies and internal controls.
  • Implement, deploy, and disseminate the company's compliance program throughout the Middle Eastern region, in collaboration with compliance officers in the entities, on all compliance matters, including trade compliance policy, sanctions, embargoes, export control, competition and anti-trust, data protection, and anti-corruption.
  • Coordinate compliance operations within the cluster to ensure timely compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Identify possible areas of risk or non-compliance by conducting routine compliance audits and assessments.
  • Support organizations in putting action plans and compliance statements into practice to guarantee adherence to control protocols.
  • Ensure that business partners are properly screened by using appropriate screening technologies, such the AEB tool, to identify partners who have been blacklisted. This will improve compliance.
  • Verify that particular contract clauses adhere to compliance standards.
  • Provide entity-level compliance trainings on Anti-Corruption, Trade Compliance, and Competition Law to raise awareness.
  • Assist in reviewing, preparing and documenting compliance best practices, policies, and procedures of the company.


IV. REQUIREMENTS in terms of experience, education and competencies

  • Bachelor degree in Law. Master of Laws (LL.M.) is a plus, Audit or equivalent degree.
  • 7 to 10 years of professional experience in a similar position.
  • Fluent in English, French and Arabic
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage several projects in a fast-paced workplace, including working under stress.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
