Cost Controller

Key Responsibilities:
• Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the supermarket’s budget. Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs, providing insights and explanations.
• Cost Analysis: Conduct regular cost analysis on inventory, labor, and overhead expenses. Identify areas for cost reduction and recommend actionable strategies to improve profitability.
• Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and costs associated with procurement, storage, and waste management. Implement strategies to optimize inventory turnover and minimize shrinkage.
• Reporting: Prepare detailed cost reports and presentations for management, highlighting trends, variances, and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost control.
• Financial Forecasting: Assist in forecasting future costs and financial performance based on historical data and market trends.
• Collaboration: Work closely with department managers (e.g., purchasing, operations) to understand cost drivers and support initiatives aimed at reducing costs.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. Assist in preparing documentation for audits and financial reviews.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness within the supermarket.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; professional certification is an advantage.
• Experience: Proven experience in cost control, budgeting, or financial analysis, preferably in a retail or supermarket environment.
• Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure
