Job Description & Summary
The expenses accountant oversees and controls the expenses incurred by the firm, ensuring they are in line with the expenses policy. This can include tracking, categorizing, and approving expenses, as well as analyzing spending patterns to identify non compliance and cost reduction opportunities. Additionally, the expenses accountant is responsible for assisting and training employees on proper expense reporting submission and reimbursement, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards. The ultimate goal of the expenses accountant is to optimize spending while maintaining financial transparency and accountability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in enforcing policies and procedures related to expenses, ensuring they are consistent with the firm’s goals and overall strategy.
  • Reviewing and analyzing expenses submitted by employees, ensuring they comply with set policies and appropriately managing exceptions.
  • Analyzing spending patterns to identify instances of non compliance with policies.
  • Performing regular audits of the expenses submitted by employees and addressing identified exceptions.
  • Liaising with internal auditors, providing documentation and explanations were required and implementing any recommendations provided.
  • Timely review and reconciliation of related accounts.

  • Proficiency in using accounting software and systems (e.g., SAGE) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English required, proficiency in Arabic is preferred
  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
  • Professional Certification is a plus (CA, ACCA, CMA,CPA).
