Chief Accountant

Job Overview:


The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions within the organization. This role ensures the accuracy of financial data and compliance with accounting standards.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting system.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Prepare daily cash positions and monthly cashflow projections.
  • Manage and mentor the accounting team, ensuring continuous professional development.
  • Oversee the hiring, training, and performance evaluation of accounting staff.
  • Implement and maintain a robust internal control system.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Review and improve accounting policies, procedures, and systems to streamline processes.
  • Monitor financial transactions to prevent fraud, errors, and inefficiencies.
  • Work closely with the finance team and other departments to support cross-functional financial initiatives.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including the preparation and filing of tax returns.
  • Oversee tax planning, deductions, and benefits optimization.



Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another relevant field
  • ACA / ACCA / CPA
  • 7 to 10 years of experience with at least two years in a supervisory role.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the FX industry is a must.
  • Advance MS Excel skills, including the use of formulas and pivot tables, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent command of the English language both verbal and written.
