Quality Control Officer – Stores Production and Service

Job Overview:
The Quality Control Officer – Stores Production and Service is responsible for ensuring the quality, safety and hygiene practices are adhered to, in catering productions in stores, in addition to the compliance of the Food Safety System in designated locations

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of the food safety and quality policies and procedures
- Ensure efficient workflows are in place to allow prevention of cross contamination
- Monitor and verify food handlers’ practices and make sure they are done according to the food safety & quality guidelines and SOPs.
- Inspect store areas for cleanliness, proper organizing and detect pest activities
- Ensure semi-finished and ready to eat food are stored in adequate conditions before they are served.
- Ensure shelf-life standards of all products are strictly followed
- Inspect fridges and freezers to ensure everything is stored according to food safety and hygiene rules
- Coordinate with food safety team on sample testing as requested by Management
- Work on reducing waste through constant update on product conditions
- Report any problem or staff incompliance to policies to concerned parties
- Complete regular food safety, product quality checks and service checks to ensure compliance to policies and procedures
- Conduct regular trainings for food handlers on food safety, hygiene, product quality guidelines and service guidelines
- Ensure that the cleaning company personnel are abiding by hygiene rules and properly following the cleaning procedures
- Conduct regular inspections on quantity and quality of cleaning chemicals used by food handlers
- Assist in setting the shelf life of each product (Best used before dates)
- Assist with enforcing food safety program, quality and service procedures, GMP policy, and personnel hygiene policies.
- Work with the Head of F&B to ensure that production is standardized in all the stores.
- Help, develop, maintain, and update all records, manuals, training procedures as pertain to food safety and quality control
- Assist with preparation for food safety external audits
- Escalate all challenges and areas of concern to the Head of F&B and Head of Food Safety & Quality Assurance.
- To ensure proper implementation and improvement of the GMRL Food Safety systems & Quality systems in the catering sections across all branches
- To continuously train employees regarding Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Hygienic Practices and good customer service.
- To do Unannounced internal audits in the catering sections in branches and submit related reporting and then follow up on execution of related actions with concerned parties
- Drive corrective actions through all parameters (method, material, manpower, working environment) ensure follow-up and effectiveness.
- Monitor and control the operations quality and safety parameters
- Analyze trends in non-conformities related to production, personal hygiene and lab tests and report to the direct manager
- Assist in the creation of the food safety & quality trainings content
- Coordinate with store management and maintenance team regarding on-site maintenance, pest control, cleaning chemicals, food safety tools needed, production tools, etc.
- Coordinate with different departments regarding the labelling of pre-packed products and ensure that labelling is conform to local and international standards when applicable

Qualifications:
- Between 1 - 2 years of experience in related field
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Safety, Biology, Food Science, Food Technology or any related field
- Basic Food Safety Training
