Reports to: Supply Chain Director


Logistics Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies that align with project timelines, cost-efficiency goals, and customer requirements.
  • Plan and coordinate the logistics of lighting components, including LEDs, drivers, fixtures, and controls, ensuring timely delivery for both production and project installations.
  • Create contingency plans to manage potential disruptions and maintain uninterrupted supply chains.

Vendor & Carrier Management

  • Identify and build relationships with reliable carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers specializing in project-based and lighting-specific logistics.
  • Negotiate contracts with carriers and third-party logistics providers, ensuring competitive rates and service reliability.
  • Regularly evaluate and monitor carrier performance based on delivery accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to timelines.

Inventory & Warehouse Management

  • Oversee inventory control practices, ensuring optimal stock levels of lighting materials to meet project needs without excess holding costs.
  • Manage warehousing operations, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards, especially for fragile or specialized lighting components.
  • Implement and refine warehousing systems to optimize the movement, storage, and tracking of goods.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure that all logistics operations comply with applicable laws and industry standards.
  • Oversee customs documentation, tariffs, and regulations to ensure seamless cross-border logistics.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control teams to inspect materials and ensure quality standards are met in all shipments.

Cost Management & Budgeting

  • Develop, manage, and control logistics budgets, identifying opportunities to reduce logistics costs without sacrificing quality or efficiency.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses on logistics expenses, including warehousing, transportation, and carrier fees, to optimize spending.
  • Track logistics performance metrics, including cost per shipment, lead times, and delivery accuracy, reporting on performance against budget goals.

Project Coordination & Support

  • Collaborate with project managers to align logistics schedules with project timelines, ensuring materials are available when and where needed.
  • Act as the primary logistics contact for project teams, communicating status updates and proactively managing any logistical challenges.
  • Coordinate with procurement and installation teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries to project sites.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain comprehensive records of logistics transactions, contracts, and supplier information in ERP or logistics software.
  • Produce regular reports on logistics metrics, including delivery performance, cost savings, and lead time reduction, to support data-driven decision-making.



Qualifications:


Educational Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Preferred: Master’s Degree (MBA or equivalent) with a focus on Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Project Management.

Professional Certifications

Certifications add credibility and demonstrate expertise in logistics and supply chain management:

Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) by APICS.

Certified Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD) by APICS.

Six Sigma Green/Black Belt for process improvement.

Project Management Professional (PMP) for project coordination and timeline management.

Experience

Minimum 5–7 Years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain management, or operations, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.

Proven track record in managing logistics for project-based industries, ideally in construction, manufacturing, or specialized sectors like lighting components.

Experience in:

Inventory and warehouse management systems (e.g., WMS, ERP).

Vendor and carrier relationship management with a focus on contract negotiations and performance evaluation.

Cross-border logistics, including handling customs regulations and international shipping.

Familiarity with handling fragile or specialized products like lighting fixtures and electronic components is a strong advantage.

Understanding of lighting industry-specific logistics.
