Job Description

We seek a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with specific experience in jewelry accounting within an atelier or factory environment to join our team in Lebanon. 

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in managing the financial intricacies of the jewelry industry, including material costing, inventory valuation, and production-related accounting.

Familiarity with ERP software such as Suntech, Wingold, or Tally is highly desired.

 

Only candidates with jewelry accounting experience within an atelier or factory environment and ERP software knowledge (Suntech, Wingold, or Tally are a plus) will be considered.

Skills

1. Technical Accounting Skills

  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, particularly as they apply to manufacturing and inventory-heavy industries.
  • Expertise in cost accounting, with a focus on material costing (e.g., gold, diamonds, gemstones) and labor cost allocation.
  • Familiarity with Lebanese tax laws, including VAT, income tax, and NSSF submissions.
  • Experience preparing financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis.
  • Ability to reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable and receivable cycles.

 

2. Jewelry Industry-Specific Skills

  • Knowledge of jewelry-specific accounting processes, such as managing high-value inventory and tracking raw material usage.
  • Familiarity with the valuation of precious metals and gemstones, factoring in weight, purity, and market fluctuations.
  • Understanding of production workflows in a jewelry factory, including inventory movement from raw materials to finished products.

 

3. ERP and Technology Proficiency

  • Hands-on experience with ERP software, particularly Suntech or Wingold or Tally.
  • Proficiency in general accounting tools like QuickBooksSAP, or equivalent software.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling, pivot tables, and inventory tracking.
  • Familiarity with digital inventory management systems tailored to jewelry manufacturing.

 

4. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

  • Strong ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to improve operational efficiency.
  • Capacity to identify cost-saving opportunities within the production cycle.
  • Ability to resolve discrepancies in financial or inventory records through detailed investigation.

 

5. Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Arabic and English (French is an advantage).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with production, procurement, and management teams.
  • Confidence in liaising with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
