Coffee Shop Manager

Job Purpose:

Is responsible to oversee the daily operations of the coffee shop, ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service, the maintenance of high-quality standards, and the profitability of the establishment. This role involves managing staff, coordinating schedules, monitoring inventory, and implementing marketing strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth functioning and high service quality
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the coffee shop
  • Monitor cleanliness, hygiene, and safety compliance in line with health regulations
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate the coffee shop staff
  • Create and manage work schedules to ensure adequate coverage during operational hours
  • Motivate the team to provide exceptional customer service and maintain high morale
  • Ensure a welcoming and pleasant customer experience
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and effectively
  • Implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and encourage repeat visits
  • Monitor and manage the coffee shop's budget to ensure profitability
  • Analyze sales and financial reports to identify areas for improvement
  • Manage cash flow, process transactions, and ensure accuracy in financial records
  • Oversee ordering, storage, and usage of supplies and ingredients
  • Monitor inventory levels and minimize waste to optimize costs
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors
  • Support the marketing department in executing promotional campaigns to attract and retain customers
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to refine service and offerings
  • Lead by example to foster a positive work culture and team cohesion
  • Address operational challenges and implement effective solutions
  • Stay updated on industry trends and adapt strategies accordingly
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates and gather input
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Competencies:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field

Experience:

5 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role

Physical Effort:

Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the coffee shop during shifts and ability to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the coffee shop's operational needs


Work Environment:

Frequent standing, walking, and moving around the coffee shop to supervise operations and interact with staff and customers
