The Structural Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of structural systems for a variety of projects, ensuring that structures are safe, efficient, and compliant with regulations. The role involves working closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to develop sound structural solutions, from initial concept through to construction. The Structural Engineer ensures the quality, safety, and durability of the built environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and analyze structural systems and components for buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure projects.
Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications to meet project requirements and regulatory standards.
Perform site evaluations and assessments to determine structural conditions and inform design decisions.
Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated design solutions.
Assist with project planning, including reviewing scope, timelines, and budgets.
Ensure that all designs comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Conduct structural assessments, including load testing and structural integrity analysis.
Provide technical support during construction, including site visits to monitor progress and resolve any issues.
Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and engineering technologies to continuously improve design practices.
Communicate effectively with clients and contractors, providing progress reports and addressing concerns during the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.
2-4 years of experience in structural engineering or a related role.
Proficiency in structural design and analysis software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, ETABS, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of materials, design methods, and construction techniques.
Knowledge of local building codes, standards, and regulations.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Good communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Knowledge of sustainable design practices and green building technologies is a plus
