Job Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Commis – Pastry to join our pastry team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about baking and desserts to develop their skills and gain hands-on experience in a professional pastry kitchen. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing a variety of pastries, cakes, and baked goods while maintaining quality and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Pastry & Dessert Preparation:
Assist in the preparation of croissants, éclairs, macarons, cakes, and other pastries following established recipes.
Help with measuring, mixing, and preparing ingredients for baking.
Support the pastry chefs in assembling and decorating pastries and desserts.

2. Kitchen Support & Organization:
Keep the pastry section organized and stocked with necessary ingredients.
Assist in maintaining inventory and reporting stock levels to senior chefs.
Help in the preparation of fillings, creams, glazes, and other pastry components.

3. Quality Control & Presentation:
Ensure pastries and desserts meet the required standards in taste, texture, and presentation.
Follow instructions carefully to maintain consistency in products.

4. Hygiene & Food Safety:
Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment, following all food safety regulations.
Properly store ingredients and baked goods to ensure freshness.
Assist in cleaning kitchen equipment and workstations after use.

5. Team Collaboration & Learning:
Work closely with senior pastry chefs and take on new responsibilities as needed.
Be eager to learn and develop pastry techniques under the guidance of experienced chefs.
Communicate effectively with the pastry team to ensure smooth workflow.

Requirements:
✔️ Some experience in a professional pastry kitchen or bakery is preferred but not required.
✔️ Passion for baking and a strong desire to learn and grow in the pastry field.
✔️ Basic knowledge of pastry techniques and baking fundamentals.
✔️ Ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely.
✔️ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
✔️ Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
✔️ Willingness to take direction and work as part of a team.
✔️ Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long hours and work in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable handling kitchen equipment, including ovens, mixers, and dough sheeters.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25kg
