Role Purpose:
- Contributes significantly to the overall IT Strategy and direct all aspects of information technology systems within an organization, including business application, Infrastructure, security systems, and facilities. Develops and maintains policies and procedures, ensure projects are completed with the set target and abiding by budget guidelines. Maintains best practices for an organization's infrastructure.
- Oversees and manages all functions related to IT and ensures optimum support to all company departments.
Key Accountabilities
BUDGET/CONTRACTS
• Responsible for Hardware and Software maintenance, including the assessment of capacity, risk and capability for future requirements.
• Approves, coordinates and controls all projects related to selection, acquisition, development and installation of major information systems. Ensures appropriate investment in strategic and operational systems. Evaluates systems to measure their success.
• Reviews all hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts, soliciting involvement and participation of other management team members as appropriate.
• Develops, when possible, master purchase or lease agreements for hardware, software, maintenance and telecommunication services.
• Develops and monitors the approved annual operating and capital budgets for information and technology systems.
• Maintains contact with IT suppliers and maintains knowledge of current technology, equipment, prices and terms of agreements to minimize the investment required to meet established service levels. Evaluates alternatives, performs appropriate cost benefit analysis, and recommends solutions that maximize effectiveness and minimize costs commensurate with acceptable risks.
• Manages relationships with vendors for sales, service and support of all information systems and technology. Serves as the primary contact to software, hardware and network-related vendors, consultants, and partners.
PLANNING/POLICY DEVELOPMENT
• Responsible for the technology vision and planning process that will regularly evaluate existing technology, information systems, and staffing, research new solutions and technologies and recommend changes.
• Responsible for planning, development, evaluation, coordination and management of the information and communication systems. This includes data, voice, video, business applications, office automation, and mobile computing.
• Recommends and enforces policies and procedures to ensure the protection of IT assets and the integrity, security and privacy of information entrusted to or maintained by the Company.
• Recommends changes to software applications based on analysis of their impact to all users requirements.
• Gathers and analyzes changing requirements of users and develops effective and feasible ways to satisfy user requirements.
SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION/REPORTING
• Ensures that all information systems and networks operate according to internal standards, and legal requirements.
• Coordinates and manages reporting needs and data analysis for the Company.
• Develops and maintains system recovery plan in the event of power failure, damage to system, etc.
• Facilitates correction of any system failures.
• Oversees the development, maintenance, and communication of systems documentation, policies, procedures, and lessons learned across all functions of IT.
TRAINING
• Supervises the development and maintenance of user documentation, including user manuals, FAQs and help files.
• Communicates IS/IT plans, policies and technology trends to the management team and professional staff.
• Provides directly or arrange for new user training and advanced training for existing users.
• Updates documentation and on-line help facilities whenever required.
TEAM MANAGEMENT
• Selects, trains, mentors, guides, and supervises IT department members.
• Conducts effective performance evaluation and recommends adequate development plan for those with less experience.
• Ensure fair team treatment including acknowledgment, appreciation and accountability of team members when needed
• Mitigates team conflict and communication problems.
• Helps team execute career development plans.
• Keeps track of training conducted with the team members and facilitate team activities outside the office.
INTERNAL SYSTEMS
• Troubleshoots hardware, software and network operating system
• Maintains current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources
Functional Relations:
• With all departments to analyze and review all their data processing and equipment requirements
• With suppliers for the provision, updating and maintenance of the required software packages and equipment.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s / Master's Degree in Computer Science, or Management Information System
Experience:
- At least 8 years’ experience in IT field
