Job Summary:
The CNC Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC turning machines to produce precision cylindrical components according to technical drawings and SOPs. This role involves preparing, setting up, monitoring, and adjusting machining parameters to achieve dimensional accuracy and surface finish standards. The operator is also expected to perform basic preventative maintenance, follow safety and quality procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts under the direction of the Production Supervisor.


Duties:
-Review daily schedule, assigned workpiece, part drawing, operation list, and S.O.P., ensuring required approvals.
-Load or create CNC program via CAM software or directly on the machine, checking time estimation and cutting strategy.
-Prepare sketches, necessary tools, clamping devices, and request missing items from Planning if needed.
-Apply TPM steps, check tool turret, coolant, and lubrication system, warm up spindle, and properly mount/align the part according to plan.
-Run and monitor CNC machining processes, making manual corrections when necessary in coordination with the Head of Production, and prepare the next part while the current one is running.
-Inspect surface finish and critical dimensions before part removal, sign off completed parts on the S.O.P., and attach related documentation.
-Complete the Daily Work Report (POW) including runtime, issues, and tool usage, and provide written suggestions for efficiency and cost improvements.
-Follow 5S principles to maintain an organized workstation and clean machine, load/off-load palettes, and ensure cleanliness at the end of each shift.
-Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, report unusual machine behavior, assist in coolant changes, and support tool life tracking.
-Communicate technical issues to the Head of Production, assist colleagues when needed, participate in evaluations and calibration, attend training, and follow safety protocols.
