The Commis Chef assists in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes under the supervision of senior chefs. This role is essential for maintaining the high standards of quality, hygiene, and presentation expected in a 5-star hotel. The Commis Chef supports smooth kitchen operations while developing culinary skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Chef de Partie in preparing and cooking menu items in accordance with hotel standards.

Ensure all mise en place is completed and ready before service.

Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards consistently.

Maintain cleanliness, order, and hygiene in the kitchen at all times.

Properly store and label all food items to ensure freshness and minimize waste.

Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines as per hotel and HACCP standards.

Assist in receiving and checking food deliveries when required.

Learn and develop new culinary techniques under the guidance of senior chefs.

Support teamwork and effective communication across all kitchen sections.

Requirements:

Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent training.

Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a similar position within a 4 or 5-star hotel or reputable restaurant.

Basic knowledge of international cuisine and cooking methods.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and good team spirit.

Good communication skills in English (Arabic and/or French are a plus).

Working Conditions:

Full-time position based at a 5-star property in Ashrafieh.

Flexible working hours including weekends and holidays as per operational needs
