As Plant/Operations Manager, you’ll lead and optimize day-to-day operations at our manufacturing facility. You’ll ensure high-quality LED lighting products are delivered efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively, aligning operational goals with Vice Lighting’s premium standards and custom manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Operations & Production Management
Manage production planning and scheduling to meet output targets, customer deadlines, and budgetary goals based on capacity and demand
Coordinate across manufacturing, quality control, and maintenance teams.
Follow-up the material, drawings, ressources to meet the deadlines
Provide technical support and directives to the production team
Follow-up with subcontractors’ technical issues and delivery dates
Motivate, coach and train production team
Communicate the management decisions and strategies to the production team
• Quality, Compliance & Safety
Ensure consistent product quality, adherence to specification standards, and compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g. health and safety, electrical standards)
Lead safety training, incident reporting, and corrective actions.
Ensure the ISO procedures are followed
• Continuous Improvement & Lean Practices
Identify process inefficiencies and implement lean methodologies (e.g. waste reduction, cycle-time reduction, Kanban, 5S) to elevate plant performance, throughput, and yield Monitor and report on KPIs: downtime, scrap rates, OEE, productivity metrics.
• Equipment & Maintenance Oversight
Maintain machinery reliability via preventative maintenance programs.
Plan equipment upgrades and capital investments in collaboration with engineering.
• Budget & Cost Control
Manage and optimize operational and production budgets, including overhead, labor, material, and maintenance costs.
Measure actual performance vs. budget goals and investigate variance
Keep the stock accurate and direct inventories
• Team Leadership & Development
Supervise plant supervisors, technicians, and floor staff.
Drive a high-performance, safety-first culture, mentor future leaders, promote accountability, and oversee hiring and performance reviews.
• Cross-functional Collaboration
Liaise with R&D, design, sales, logistics, and headquarters to ensure smooth project execution, especially for custom lighting solutions.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering ,Production/Operations Management, or related field (Master/MBA a plus).
• Experience: 8+ years in manufacturing or plant operations with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role. Experience in LED lighting, optics, or related electronics manufacturing is advantageous.
• Proven knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement tools, and quality systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with ability to motivate cross functional teams.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities; proficient with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
• Financial acumen: ability to develop/review budgets and control costs.
• Commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
• Multilingual skills (e.g. English, French, Arabic).
• Familiarity with R&D/product development processes typical of high-end lighting fixtures.
• Certifications: Lean Six Sigma, ISO 9001 auditing, Occupational Health & Safety are a plus.
