Job purpose:
Responsible for accurately entering, verifying, and maintaining financial and accounting data within the company’s systems. This role supports the accounting team by ensuring timely data entry of invoices, receipts, journal entries, and other financial transactions, helping maintain accurate financial records and compliance with company policies.
Required skills & qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 1 year of experience as a data entry clerk
• Strong numerical and data entry accuracy skills.
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with confidential information.
• Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
Duties & responsibilities:
• Enter daily financial transactions, including invoices, expense reports, payments, and journal entries, into accounting systems.
• Validate cashflow in accordance with the sales and accounting team.
• Verify accuracy of data and resolve any discrepancies in financial records.
• Maintain and update ledgers, spreadsheets, and databases with current accounting information.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Support reconciliation of bank statements, vendor accounts, and general ledger accounts.
• Ensure all entries comply with accounting standards and internal controls.
• File and maintain physical and electronic financial documents in an organized manner.
• Collaborate with accountants and auditors during month-end closing and audits.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial data and company information.
