Job Purpose
The Production Manager is responsible for leading all manufacturing and installation activities to ensure products are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and according to company quality standards. The role oversees production planning, manpower utilization, quality control, maintenance, safety, and continuous improvement while promoting operational efficiency and accountability throughout the factory and installation teams.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
Plan and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly production activities to meet customer requirements and delivery commitments.
Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and production capacity.
Monitor production performance and address delays, bottlenecks, and operational issues.
Establish priorities and coordinate resources to maximize productivity.
Quality Management
Ensure all products are manufactured in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Implement quality control procedures and monitor production quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to reduce rework and customer complaints.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Installation & Project Execution
Supervise installation activities and ensure projects are executed according to company standards and customer requirements.
Coordinate with project teams to ensure smooth delivery and completion of installations.
Resolve site-related issues and ensure timely closure of punch-list items.
Cost Control & Operational Efficiency
Monitor material consumption and labor efficiency to ensure operations remain within budget.
Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve productivity, and optimize manufacturing processes.
Analyze production performance and implement initiatives to increase efficiency and profitability.
Maintenance & Equipment Reliability
Ensure preventive maintenance programs are established and executed for all production equipment and machinery.
Minimize downtime through proactive maintenance and timely corrective actions.
Coordinate maintenance activities and recommend equipment upgrades or replacement when necessary.
Health, Safety & Environment
Ensure compliance with company safety policies and local regulations.
Promote a strong safety culture within the factory and installation teams.
Conduct safety inspections and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Investigate incidents and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, technicians, and production personnel.
Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training and development needs.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Organize daily production meetings and ensure clear communication across teams.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate with Sales, Design, Procurement, Inventory, and Logistics departments to ensure smooth execution of customer orders.
Review production feasibility and support operational planning.
Ensure material availability and efficient coordination between departments to meet project deadlines.
Reporting & Performance Management
Prepare and present production reports and KPIs related to output, quality, efficiency, downtime, waste, and delivery performance.
Analyze operational trends and provide recommendations to improve productivity and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial position.
Experience managing production teams, quality systems, maintenance activities, and installation operations.
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, productivity improvement, and process optimization.
Good understanding of health, safety, and quality management principles.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience in furniture manufacturing, steel fabrication, or industrial production environments is an advantage
