Job Summary

The Dietitian / R&D Nutrition Specialist is responsible for developing, calculating, reviewing, and validating the nutritional composition of the company's food products. The role ensures that all nutritional facts panels, ingredient declarations, and nutrition-related claims comply with applicable local and international food labeling regulations. The position works closely with the R&D, Quality Assurance, Production, Procurement, and Marketing teams to support new product development and maintain accurate nutritional information.

Key Responsibilities
Nutrition Analysis & Labeling
Calculate and verify the nutritional values of all food products using approved nutritional databases or laboratory analysis.
Prepare and maintain Nutrition Facts Panels for product labels.
Review recipes and formulations to ensure the accuracy of nutritional information.
Update nutritional values whenever recipes or ingredients change.
Verify ingredient lists, allergen declarations, and nutrition claims.
Research & Product Development
Participate in the development and reformulation of new and existing products.
Recommend healthier ingredient alternatives while maintaining product quality and functionality.
Support innovation projects by evaluating the nutritional impact of product formulations.
Conduct nutritional assessments of new ingredients and raw materials.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with local and international food labeling regulations.
Monitor changes in food legislation related to nutrition labeling and health claims.
Assist in preparing documentation required for product registration and regulatory approvals.
Maintain accurate records of nutritional calculations, supporting documents, and product specifications.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
Coordinate laboratory nutritional testing when required.
Validate laboratory reports against calculated nutritional values.
Investigate discrepancies in nutritional data and recommend corrective actions.
Participate in internal and external audits related to food labeling and nutritional compliance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Marketing to ensure all nutrition-related promotional materials are accurate and compliant.
Support Procurement by evaluating the nutritional impact of alternative raw materials.
Provide nutritional guidance to Sales and Customer Service when required.
Train internal teams on nutrition labeling requirements and food regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
Registered Dietitian (where applicable) is an advantage.
2–5 years of experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or food product development.
Experience with nutrition analysis software and food composition databases is preferred.
Knowledge of food labeling regulations and nutritional claims.
