Job Summary:

The Warehouse Manager for the food industry is responsible for overseeing the storage, handling, and distribution of food products within the warehouse. This role ensures compliance with food safety regulations, efficient warehouse operations, and accurate inventory management to meet the company’s goals and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:
  • Supervise the receipt, storage, and distribution of food products, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
  • Implement inventory control systems to maintain accurate stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and address any discrepancies.
  • Operations Management:
  • Manage the layout and space utilization of the warehouse to optimize storage conditions for food products.
  • Coordinate the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse, ensuring timely order fulfillment and compliance with quality standards.
  • Food Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with local and international food safety regulations, including those mandated by the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health and other relevant authorities.
  • Oversee the implementation of food safety protocols, such as temperature control and sanitation practices.
  • Manage the handling and storage of perishable items, ensuring proper refrigeration and hygiene standards.
  • Staff Supervision:
  • Recruit, train, and manage warehouse staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable about food safety procedures and warehouse operations.
  • Develop and implement work schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels and efficient operations.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to staff.
  • Quality Control:
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of stored food products, addressing any issues related to product damage or spoilage.
  • Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure product integrity.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and receipts, with a focus on traceability and compliance with food safety documentation requirements.
  • Prepare and present reports on warehouse performance, including key metrics related to inventory accuracy and order fulfillment.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency and food safety practices.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices related to food warehousing and logistics.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Food Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • An associate’s degree or relevant certifications in food safety (e.g., HACCP) can be beneficial.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse management, with a focus on the food industry.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Skills:
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and warehouse management software.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items.
  • Capability to work in varying environmental conditions, including temperature-controlled areas.
