Role and Responsibilities
General
- Oversees the finance function of a group of entities
- Manages the financial planning and budgeting process and monitors actual results versus the budget of the Group
- Oversees and monitors all contractual terms with third parties having a financial impact on the Group
- Oversees the accounting and reporting process of a group of entities
- Ensures compliance with taxes and regulations
- Leads on the asset management process of the Group
- Ensures timely financial reporting to management and to stakeholders
- Manages administrative transactions as needed
- Assists in different cross functional missions
Budgeting and Reporting
- Liaises with various stakeholders to set the Group budget
- Monitors actual results versus budget and conduct variance analysis
- Reports budget overruns to management
- Advises on measures to mitigate any budget overruns
- Ensures financial reporting is in line with the appliable financial reporting standards
- Prepares monthly consolidated financial statements of the Group
- Ensures timely and accurate reporting to all stakeholders as required
- Monitors and tracks financial covenants and requirements of the Group
- Ensures timely preparation of ad hoc reports to relevant stakeholders
- Coordinates with the auditors to ensure issuance of the financial statements within the set timeline
Accounting
- Oversees the accounting function of a group of companies
- Resolves accounting treatment for complex transactions
- Ensures accounting is in line with the applicable financial reporting standards
- Ensures complete and adequate oversight over all inventory and fixed assets location and condition for a group of entities
- Ensures accurate valuation and reporting of inventory and fixed assets
- Ensures the execution of periodic assets and inventory counts in several jurisdictions
Contracts
- Oversees all contractual arrangements with clients and vendors affecting financial accounting and reporting and ensure compliance with contractual terms
- Monitors and manages all key performance indicators and financial requirements in accordance with lenders and investors requirements
- Keeps track of all contractual financial obligations of the Group
Treasury
- Oversees and monitors the cash position of the Group
- Conducts accurate cash projections and forecasts
- Liaises with banks and financial institutions as needed
- Escalates collections or client issues arising in a group of entities
Tax and Compliance
- Understands tax and compliance requirements of a variety of jurisdictions
- Oversees tax submissions and compliance matters
- Ensures tax filings are submitted within required deadlines
- Follows up on all tax updates and changes in regulations
Others
- Ensures adherence to policies and procedures
- Ensures availability at all times of financial reports needed for management and investors reporting
- Controls all ERP modules and financial dashboard aspects
- Manages all internal and external audit procedures
Qualifications Requirements
- 10-12 years of relative work experience.
- 7 years’ experience as a manager
- Extensive knowledge in accounting and reporting standards
- Ability to read and analyze complex contractual agreements
- Excellent management and supervisory skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Proficient in accounting and tax software
- Advanced excel skills
- Fluent in English and French
Education Requirements
- BSc. in Administration (Accounting/Finance).
- Certified Member of an Accounting Professional Body (ACCA or CPA).
