Tendering Engineer

Responsibilities

1. Studies tender documentation thoroughly;

2. Requests additional information when needed;

3. Analyzes drawings and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates; 4. Prepares and sends inquires to suppliers/subcontractors and obtains appropriate quotations based on specifications and requirements;

5. Negotiates the best terms from the quotation received;        

6. Prepares comparison sheet to better evaluate the offers;         

7. Calculates a final figure for the estimated cost, supplemented by adjustments for overheads and profit, and presents a tender price to Projects Manager;

8. Prices the items in the Bill of Quantities or making buildup rates, and be familiar with prevailing market rates;    

9. Works with Project Managers and Planning Engineer to help predict the timescales of a project; 

10. Consults Purchasing Department to formulate estimates;

11. Evaluates suppliers/subcontractors in tendering process;

12. Performs other related duties as required.


Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor Degree in Engineering

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Tendering Engineer.

Previous experience in similar position in a construction company is a plus

Example: Excellent verbal and written communication skills

High proficiency in Microsoft Office            

High Proficiency in AutoCAD              

Knowledge in Primavera is a plus
