Job Overview:

McDermott has an immediate opening for a Sr. Logistics & Trade Compliance Specialist in the Qatar Area. The Sr. Logistics & Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for Oversee and coordinate all cargo movements in line with project requirement and in compliance with MDR standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Review and validate shipping documentation.
  • Manage and execute logistics related operational matters in line with project requirements and cost effectively.
  • Ensure mobilization and demobilization efforts for project cargo is carried out compliantly with relevant regulations.
  • Monitor boat run and try to minimize frequency by ensuring maximum space utilization
  • Ensure Coordinators keep track of all temporary imports and make sure equipment is returned on time and deposit refund is claimed
  • obtain confirmation from Agent on Temporary importation of vessels and cargo, Work Attestation, etc, and ensure timely vessel clearance upon arrival
  • Operate in accordance with all McDermott company guidelines and procedures.
  • Check and validate freight forwarders invoices.
  • Appointment of approved Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers for logistics related shipments.
  • Ensure the operation are in line with the company policies in term of Trade Compliance.
  • Coordinate and manage cargo transportation activities for the project vessels and project cargo.
  • Review of project load lists and cargo classes to ensure project compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Liaise with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Regular reporting requirements.
  • Use of systems and data entry to satisfy record-keeping requirements.
  • Bid solicitation, award and execution of logistics transactions.
  • Liaise with Logistics Service Providers, Shipping Agents and Customs Brokers, internal departments including project teams, Engineering, Marine and Traffic.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Logistics.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience dealing with Capital Project Logistics, or a combination of experience and education.
  • Must have heavy transport experience, configuration, sourcing, capital project logistics and must have knowledge of Multi/Inter-model transport.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, reliability and ability to learn new topics and technology quickly;
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented;
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
