What You'll Do
- - Review available data, reports, maps, and technical information related to wastewater generation, water quality, hydrology, land availability, and site conditions.
- - Assess the current wastewater management situation in the target area, including wastewater sources, estimated flows, pollution loads, existing discharge practices, and environmental impacts.
- - Evaluate the feasibility of using Nature-Based Solutions, particularly constructed wetlands, for wastewater treatment in the local context.
- - Support the preparation of the conceptual design of the proposed treatment system, including treatment train, sizing assumptions, hydraulic considerations, vegetation selection, and expected treatment performance.
- - Prepare technical inputs for procurement, including specifications for materials, equipment, wetland substrates, liners, pipes, control structures, and vegetation.
- - Support the preparation of cost estimates for construction, operation, and maintenance.
- - Provide technical advice during implementation, including review of contractor submissions, site visits, quality control, and troubleshooting when needed.
- - Develop a simple monitoring and operation plan, including water quality parameters, sampling protocols, performance indicators, and maintenance requirements.
- - Prepare technical reports and contribute to meetings, consultations, and capacity-building activities.
- - Perform other related technical tasks as requested by the Program Director.
