Job Purpose

As a Draftsman at Veolia Water Technologies Lebanon, you will be an integral part of the Engineering and Design Department. Your primary role is to create accurate CAD drawings from hand sketches, verbal instructions, pre-existing projects, and on-site visits. You will collaborate closely with the engineering team on both local and international projects, playing a crucial role in the tender and execution phases by delivering precise mechanical and electrical drawings that adhere to our company standards.

Responsibilities

In your role as a Draftsman, your daily tasks will include:

• Drawing and Documentation Management: Creating, maintaining, and continuously updating project drawing lists. You will manage the systematic saving of sketches and drawings on the company's CAD server, ensuring that organization and timely updates of project folders and files are maintained as projects progress and revisions occur.
• Printing and Error Checking: You are responsible for printing drawing sets in various formats and meticulously reviewing all sketches and drawings for errors before they are issued. This responsibility demands a high attention to detail and strict adherence to quality standards.
• Collaborative Project Engagement: Working closely with Mechanical Design Engineers, Senior Electrical Design Engineers, and other members of the engineering team, you will resolve issues related to the drawings and ensure that they meet set specifications and standard codes applicable to the engineering discipline. This collaboration occurs on both local and international projects, providing diverse experiences and challenges.
• QHSE Responsibilities: Considering ergonomic and safety issues is crucial during drawing preparation in order to conform to design and corporate standards. You will participate in Quality-Health-Safety-Environmental audits/inspections with both internal and external parties, reporting any incidents and maintaining documentation in compliance with the QHSE Management System.
• Decision-Making Contribution: Your insights will contribute to decisions regarding conceptual design, pipes’ routing, and equipment installation, ensuring effective project plan implementation and smooth workflow.
• Ethical Compliance: Adhering to the Veolia Code of Conduct by maintaining high ethical standards and familiarity with local legislation.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and experience:

• Educational Background: A degree in Topography or a related field is required.
• Professional Experience: A minimum of 2-years experience in a CAD Operator role is essential.
• Technical Proficiency: Outstanding fluency and skill within the Autodesk program, including expertise in Revit 3D software. Demonstrable proficiency in AutoCAD and Google Suite is also necessary.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication abilities are crucial for this role. You should possess strong listening, comprehension, and feedback skills.
• Language Requirement: Proficiency in the English language is mandatory to ensure effective communication in our diverse working environment.
