Role Overview: The Field Researcher plays a pivotal role in gathering data that informs key research findings and recommendations. They act as the bridge between the research team and the field, ensuring that data is collected accurately and ethically. The role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in sometimes challenging environments.

Field researcher qualifications


Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Anthropology, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Coursework or certification in research methodologies is a plus.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in field research or data collection is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in diverse and remote settings is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with data collection tools and software (e.g., SPSS, Excel, SurveyMonkey) is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in data management and reporting.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to speak local languages or dialects (if applicable) is an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of ethical research practices and data protection principles.

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel to remote and possibly challenging environments.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours depending on fieldwork demands.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle in the field (if applicable).
