The Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing and optimizing daily operations within the oil and gas sector. This role includes managing operational activities, ensuring safety and compliance, and improving efficiency across various processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations at drilling sites, production facilities, and/or refineries.
  • Ensure that operations are conducted efficiently, safely, and in accordance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Monitor compliance with environmental regulations, health and safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Process Optimization:
  • Analyze operational processes and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational efficiency.
  • Project Coordination:
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of projects.
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for projects and operational activities.
  • Resolve any operational issues or bottlenecks that may arise.
  • Technical Support:
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for operational equipment and systems.
  • Work with maintenance teams to schedule and oversee equipment repairs and upgrades.
  • Stay updated on new technologies and industry advancements that could benefit operations.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of operational activities, incidents, and performance data.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance, safety metrics, and project status to management.
  • Ensure proper documentation for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Training and Development:
  • Train and mentor junior staff and field operators on operational procedures and safety practices.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.

  • Liaise with external contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (advanced degrees or certifications preferred).
  • Proven experience in operations management within the oil and gas industry.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using operational software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
