A hospital in Jounieh, Lebanon is seeking a dedicated **Infection Control officer & Head of Department (HOD)** with a strong background in nursing to lead the infection control efforts in our hospital located in Jounieh, Lebanon. The Infection Control HOD will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention and control are implemented and maintained throughout the hospital. This individual will develop and manage infection control programs, provide strategic leadership to the infection control team, and work closely with healthcare staff to minimize infection risks and ensure compliance with local and international health and safety regulations.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Strategic Leadership:**
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for infection control aligned with the hospital’s goals and objectives.
- Lead the infection control team, ensuring a proactive, collaborative, and multidisciplinary approach to infection prevention.

2. **Policy Development and Compliance:**
- Create, review, and update infection control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, national, and international standards.
- Stay up to date with changes in legislation and industry best practices, adapting infection control policies accordingly.

3. **Risk Assessment and Management:**
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify infection hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk management program related to infection control.

4. **Incident Investigation:**
- Lead investigations into infection control incidents, near misses, and outbreaks, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.

5. **Employee Health and Illness Management:**
- Oversee protocols for managing employee-related infections, ensuring staff receive the appropriate care and guidance.
- Work with Human Resources (HR) to manage staff sick leave policies and ensure compliance with legal and organizational infection control requirements.

6. **Training and Education:**
- Provide continuous training and education to healthcare staff on infection control practices.
- Monitor staff compliance with infection control protocols and address any non-compliance issues promptly.

7. **Collaboration:**
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure infection control measures are integrated into all aspects of hospital operations.
- Work closely with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) team to align infection control with broader workplace safety measures.

1-3 years of experience in infection control, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
