Position Title: Stock Controller
Location: Tech Store, Tripoli
Department: Inventory Management
Reports to: Warehouse Manager/Operations Manager
Position Overview:
The Stock Controller at Tech Store Tripoli is responsible for managing and maintaining inventory levels to ensure the smooth operation of the store. This role involves monitoring stock movements, conducting regular inventory checks, and ensuring that all inventory records are accurate. The Stock Controller will also work closely with the sales and procurement teams to manage stock replenishment and minimize stock discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage stock levels, ensuring that the store has adequate inventory to meet customer demand without overstocking.
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconciliations to ensure accuracy in inventory records.
- Identify and address any discrepancies in stock levels and investigate the root causes.
Stock Replenishment:
- Work with the procurement team to reorder stock as needed, ensuring timely replenishment of inventory.
- Maintain optimal stock levels by analyzing sales trends and forecasting demand.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of goods.
Data Management:
- Update and maintain accurate inventory records in the store's inventory management system.
- Generate reports on stock levels, inventory turnover, and other key metrics for management review.
- Ensure that all stock movements are properly documented and recorded.
- Inspect incoming stock to ensure that it meets quality standards and specifications.
- Report any damaged or defective stock to the relevant department for resolution.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the integrity of the inventory.
Loss Prevention:
- Implement measures to prevent stock loss due to theft, damage, or mismanagement.
- Conduct regular audits and spot checks to identify potential areas of stock loss.
- Work with the security team to monitor and address any security issues related to inventory.
Collaboration:
- Liaise with the sales team to understand product demand and ensure that popular items are always in stock.
- Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure efficient stock handling and storage.
- Collaborate with the finance department to reconcile inventory records with financial statements.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure that all stock handling and storage procedures comply with safety and regulatory standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized stockroom to prevent accidents and ensure easy access to inventory.
- Participate in safety training and ensure that all team members adhere to safety protocols.
Reporting:
- Prepare and present inventory reports to senior management, highlighting key issues and opportunities.
- Provide insights and recommendations for improving inventory management processes.
- Keep track of slow-moving and obsolete stock, recommending actions to clear or manage it.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory or stock control, preferably in a retail environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
