Regulatory Affairs Officer

Job Summary:

The Regulatory Affairs Officer will be responsible for ensuring that products in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines. The role includes liaising with regulatory authorities, ensuring the timely approval of products, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes in regulatory environments. The candidate will also ensure that all product packaging, labelling, and promotional materials meet legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all FMCG products comply with national and international regulatory standards and are registered/approved by relevant authorities.
  • Prepare and submit dossiers and regulatory documents for product approval, registration, and renewals.
  • Act as a key point of contact with regulatory bodies and authorities to facilitate timely approval and communication.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as R&D, marketing, quality assurance, and production, to ensure regulatory compliance throughout the product life cycle.
  • Review and approve product labeling, artwork, and packaging materials to ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes, trends, and developments that could impact FMCG products, and advise relevant departments accordingly.
  • Support and manage regulatory audits and inspections, ensuring that the company meets all necessary compliance requirements.
  • Evaluate product formulations and ingredients to ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
  • Maintain proper records of regulatory submissions, approvals, correspondence, and related documents.


Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in regulatory affairs, with a focus on FMCG products.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as FDA, EU regulations, local regulatory bodies, and international trade regulations for consumer products.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex regulations.
  • Proficient in regulatory software and document management systems.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with a range of FMCG products (e.g., food, beverages, cosmetics, household products).
  • Experience in navigating global regulatory environments, including approvals in multiple regions.
  • Knowledge of product safety and quality standards for FMCG products.
