Position Summary:
The Managing Director will oversee the strategic, financial, and operational leadership of the organization, ensuring its sustainable growth and alignment with the NGO’s mission. This role involves high-level management, strategic partnerships, fundraising efforts, and driving the team towards achieving program goals, particularly in the areas of sustainable development and humanitarian aid. The Managing Director will act as a key representative of the organization, liaising with government bodies, donors, and stakeholders both locally and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
1. Develop and implement strategic plans to meet the organization’s objectives.
2. Provide leadership and guidance to staff, fostering a positive work environment.
3. Ensure that the NGO’s programs align with the mission and priorities.
Financial Management & Fundraising:
1. Manage the organization’s budget and ensure sound financial practices.
2. Lead fundraising activities and build long-term relationships with donors and partners.
3. Identify new funding opportunities and prepare grant applications.
Program Management:
1. Oversee the design, implementation, and monitoring of programs and projects.
2. Set performance targets and evaluate the effectiveness of ongoing initiatives.
3. Ensure compliance with local regulations and donor requirements.
Governance & Reporting:
1. Report to the Board of Directors and provide timely updates on operations.
2. Develop policies and frameworks to improve organizational efficiency.
3. Prepare detailed progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
External Relations & Advocacy:
1. Act as the spokesperson for the organization and represent it at events and meetings.
2. Establish and maintain relationships with government agencies, donors, partners, and media.
3. Advocate for issues relevant to the NGO’s mission and build public awareness campaigns.

Qualifications & Skills:
1. Proven experience (7+ years) in leadership roles within the NGO sector or related fields.
2. Strong background in program management, strategic planning, and fundraising.
3. Solid understanding of financial management, including budgeting and reporting.
4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
5. Familiarity with Lebanese social, political, and economic contexts.
6. Fluent in Arabic and English (French is a plus).
7. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Social Sciences, or a related field
