Position Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Position Summary:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of mechanical systems for complex engineering projects. This role focuses on ensuring that HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems meet quality, safety, and efficiency standards. The Senior Mechanical Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and effective mechanical solutions aligned with project requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Mechanical System Design and Development:
o Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
o Prepare detailed mechanical drawings, schematics, and specifications that align with project objectives and regulatory standards.
2. Project Planning and Execution:
o Manage the mechanical engineering aspects of projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and technical requirements.
o Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, verifying compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
3. Technical Leadership and Guidance:
o Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, ensuring adherence to project goals and standards.
o Lead troubleshooting and implement solutions for any issues related to mechanical systems during development and execution.
4. Safety and Compliance:
o Ensure all mechanical designs and installations comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and applicable codes.
o Conduct risk assessments and integrate safety measures into design and planning processes.
5. Material and Equipment Selection:
o Select and specify mechanical components, materials, and systems based on project requirements, cost, and quality considerations.
o Coordinate with suppliers to source reliable components that align with project timelines and specifications.
6. Coordination and Collaboration:
o Work closely with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into the overall project.
o Collaborate with project managers to align on resources, timelines, and deliverables.
7. Client and Stakeholder Relations:
o Engage with clients to understand project requirements and provide tailored mechanical engineering solutions.
o Communicate with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction.
8. Documentation and Reporting:
o Generate comprehensive project documentation, including design calculations, technical specifications, and compliance reports.
o Prepare and present project progress reports, technical updates, and recommendations to clients and senior management.
9. Quality Control and Assurance:
o Conduct regular project reviews to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
o Implement quality control procedures and conduct inspections to verify system accuracy, performance, and compliance.

o In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
o Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks) for modeling and documentation.

Reporting Structure:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer reports to the Project Manager, Engineering Director, or Head of Mechanical Engineering.
Education and Experience:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
• Experience: 15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, including significant experience with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Proficiency in Revit and experience with BIM tools are preferred
