Location: Office - Beirut, Lebanon
1. Background
The purpose of this role is to lead and conduct in-depth economic research that supports ongoing
projects and initiatives across various sectors, including health, environment, education, and the
economy. The Senior Researcher will play a pivotal role in delivering evidence-based insights
and recommendations, with a focus on economic trends and policies.
2. Objectives
The Senior Researcher will:
• Lead the identification, analysis, and synthesis of high-quality data and resources in the
economic field.
• Ensure that all research outputs are credible, relevant, and aligned with organizational
priorities.
• Provide expertise in economics to support cross-sectoral projects and initiatives.
3. Scope of Work
Multi-Format Data Collection:
• Conduct comprehensive literature searches using academic databases, government
publications, NGO reports, and other credible sources.
• Collect economic data from diverse sources, including written reports, statistical datasets,
videos, and news media.
• Focus on recent publications (last 5–10 years) that provide insights into local (Lebanon)
and global economic trends.
Data Organization:
• Categorize and organize collected data and resources into structured formats by themes
and sub-sectors.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive database for easy access and reference.
Analysis and Synthesis:
• Analyze and interpret economic data to identify trends, gaps, and emerging issues.
• Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on research findings.
Editing and Copywriting:
• Edit and refine collected articles, reports, and analyses to ensure clarity, accuracy, and
alignment with the organization’s tone and style.
• Assist in drafting summaries, abstracts, and key points for dissemination.
4. Deliverables
• A comprehensive database of economic data, articles, and reports.
• Regular reports summarizing key findings and insights.
• Edited and refined content ready for publication or presentation.
• Detailed quality control reports ensuring the relevance and accuracy of sourced data.
5. Qualifications
Educational Background:
• Master’s degree in Economics, Industrial Engineering, Financial Economics, or a related
field. PhD is valued.
Experience:
• 6–10 years of professional research experience, including at least 2 to 3 years focusing on
economics and business-related topics.
• Proven experience in conducting policy-relevant research and analysis.
Skills:
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in using statistical and econometric tools (e.g., STATA, R, Python).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
