Job Scope:

Head of Internal Audit and QHSE is responsible to lead the internal audit activities in alignment with the strategic business directions. Act as an objective source of guidance and advice for stakeholders and ensure developments and processes in compliance with authority matrix and policies and procedures. Lead the team for optimal performance while providing continuous coaching and feedback.

In addition, the Head of Internal Audit and QHSE, is responsible to oversee and manage all aspects related to quality assurance, health and safety and environmental compliance within the organization.


Key Activities and Responsibilities

Strategy and Planning

  • Develop the Internal Audit strategy in alignment with the company’s vision and key priorities
  • Set and overlook the yearly audit plan and direct the execution phase to reach objectives and deliverables
  • Introduce business solutions to enhance the internal audit daily practices and activities
  • Run periodic audit assignments to ensure compliance with the authority matrix and workflows
  • Drive the development and execution of the policies and procedures, identify potential risks, initiate corrective actions and system enhancements aiming to safeguard the company’s assets
  • Manage the internal control systems to safeguard financial assets
  • Measure the reliability and integrity of financial information and control compliance with internal standards
  • Oversee the inventory activity, identify loopholes and build on recommendations for growth
  • Identify potential risks, suggest solutions and system enhancements aiming to safeguard the company’s assets
  • Investigate any type of losses and fraud incidents, recommend strategic corrective solutions and preventive actions

Direct the implementation and submission of the Internal Audit reports aiming to minimize the impact of variances

Set the yearly budget based on management’s recommendations and guidelines whilst optimizing costs


Quality Control

  • Drive the quality control activity and ensure alignment and consistency among the company’s level
  • Review the implementation and efficiency of quality assurance standards to ensure compliance
  • Analyze the quality system data to identify areas for improvement, recommend enhancement and implement accordingly
  • Review safety risk assessment framework and assess related audit controls
  • Plan and conduct quarterly quality control assignments over all flagships, stand-alone and regional stores and raise recommendations
  • Issue report upon completion of quality control assignments, evaluate audit findings, recommend corrective actions and monitor the implementation process
  • Coordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external providers
  • Conduct audit assignments to monitor materials, products and technical projects
  • Identify potential safety hazards, investigate and assess incidents recommending corrective and preventive actions as necessary
  • Follow up with Operations and Technical preventive and safety measures
  • Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards in coordination with the operations and technical departments
  • Lead and manage the QHSE team while providing guidance, coaching and support to ensure the effective execution of QHSE activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate QHSE requirements into all aspects of the organization's operations and projects
  • Monitor and analyze QHSE performance metrics while identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective and preventive actions
  • Coordinate training and awareness sessions to promote a culture of safety, quality and environmental stewardship among employees
  • Interface with regulatory agencies, customers and other stakeholders on QHSE matters to ensure the abidance of the compliance of QHSE
  • Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations and industry trends to ensure the organization remains compliant and proactive in its QHSE efforts
  • Prepare and present reports to top management on QHSE performance, initiatives and recommendations for improvement.

  • Develop capabilities and secure a solid succession plan
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, identify training needs and oversee development plans


Stakeholders Relationship

Strengthen relationships with external auditors to serve the company’s best interest

Build strong relationship with auditees to ensure continuous cooperation for optimal results

  • Establish solid relationships with Operations team and ensure continuous coordination for successful initiatives
  • Maintain alignment and cooperation with the internal stakeholders


Others

  • Stay up to date with the latest development in the field and implement the newest techniques and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with authority matrix, code of conduct, Internal Audit department and HR policies
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned as per the business need


Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Internal Audit or Finance

Master Degree is a plus

Certificates

Certified Internal Auditor

Years of Experience

15 years

Exposure to Retail/FMCG industries is a plus
