Financial & Cost Controller / Business Analyst - Retail & Wholesale – Home Appliances and Furniture

About the Role: We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial & Cost Controller / Business Analyst to join our team. This role will play a critical part in driving financial efficiency, implementing cost control measures, improving operational performance, and supporting corporate governance structures. The ideal candidate will also lead and support the implementation and optimization of Odoo ERP, aligning system capabilities with business needs.
Main Duties:
1. Financial Control & Cost Management
• Work closely with the CFO to develop, monitor, and control budgets, forecasts, and financial performance across retail and wholesale divisions.
• Establish and maintain effective cost accounting systems, focusing on product, shipping, and inventory cost analysis.
• Track and analyze variances, identifying key cost drivers and recommending corrective actions.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, reports, and internal controls.
2. Business Analysis & Reporting
• Perform detailed business performance analysis, including sales trends, profitability, and operational KPIs.
• Provide actionable insights and strategic recommendations to management to support business decisions.
• Prepare management reports, dashboards, and executive summaries to highlight performance metrics.
3. ERP Implementation (Odoo ERP)
• Lead and manage the implementation and customization of Odoo ERP across Finance, Sales, Inventory, and Procurement modules.
• Act as a liaison between department heads and technical teams to align ERP functionality with business processes.
• Train and support users to ensure effective adoption and usage of Odoo across the organization.
4. Internal Control & Corporate Governance
• Assist in and implement robust internal controls across finance and operations.
• Assist in strengthening corporate governance frameworks, including policies, procedures, risk management practices, and ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
Qualifications, Experience, and desired skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field. Master’s or CPA/CMA is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial and cost controlling, business analysis, or similar roles, preferably but not necessarily in retail/wholesale sectors.
• Proven experience in Odoo ERP implementation and process optimization is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of corporate governance, internal control systems, and compliance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
• Proficient in Excel, data analysis tools, and business intelligence software.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in the retail and wholesale industry is highly desirable, preferably in home appliances and furniture sector.
• Familiarity with Lebanese tax and accounting regulations.
• Bilingual (Arabic and English; French is a plus).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-location retail environment
