A. Job Summary
The Sales Supervisor is responsible for supervising and supporting the sales team to ensure effective
route execution, achievement of sales targets, market coverage, product availability, and proper
implementation of sales strategies. The role focuses on driving volume growth, maintaining customer
relationships, and ensuring compliance with company standards in the assigned territory.
B. Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Execution & Market Coverage
Supervise daily sales activities and ensure routes are executed as planned
Ensure all assigned customers are visited according to the approved routing plan
Monitor daily sales performance against targets and take corrective actions when needed
Ensure proper product availability, shelf presence, visibility, and rotation in the market
Identify opportunities for market growth and new customer acquisition
2. Team Supervision & Development
Lead, coach, and motivate route salesmen to achieve individual and team targets
Conduct regular field visits and joint calls with the sales team
Provide on-the-job training on selling techniques, product knowledge, and customer handling
Monitor attendance, discipline, and overall performance of the sales team
Report performance issues and support HR in employee relations matters
3. Customer & Distributor Management
Maintain strong relationships with key customers and distributors in the area
Handle customer complaints and resolve market issues promptly and professionally
Ensure proper implementation of contracts, pricing, promotions, and credit terms
Follow up on collections in coordination with the sales team and finance department
4. Reporting & Administration
Submit daily and weekly sales reports to the Area Sales Manager
Monitor aging accounts and support collection follow-ups
Ensure all sales documentation and customer records are accurate and updated
Communicate new products, prices, promotions, and policies to the sales team
5. Compliance & Operations
Ensure sales activities comply with company policies and procedures
Monitor truck loads and ensure alignment with customer needs to avoid overloading or
shortages
Ensure proper handling of products, hygiene standards, and brand image in the market
C. Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (preferred)
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in FMCG sales
Previous supervisory or team-leading experience is highly preferred
Experience in dairy or perishable products is a strong advantage
