Description
Aspire Software is looking for a system administrator to join our team in Lebanon.
Here is a little window into our company: Aspire Software operates and manages wholly owned software companies, providing mission-critical solutions across multiple verticals. By implementing industry best practices, Aspire delivers a time sensitive integration process, and the operation of a decentralized model has allowed it to become a hub for creating rapid growth by reinvesting in its portfolio.
About the job
This is a senior, technically deep role for a systems administrator who is equally comfortable administering RHEL-derivative Linux at scale and operating across modern cloud platforms. You will serve as the dedicated IT resource for Datatrac. You bring a cloud-forward mindset, strong Linux fundamentals, and the operational rigor to take ownership of an environment without being chased.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the dedicated IT point of contact across all day-to-day operations
- Own Microsoft 365 administration within the scope permitted by Aspire tenancy governance — distribution lists, OneDrive permissions, and user-level management
- Administer endpoint management via Microsoft Intune across a mixed Windows/macOS/Linux fleet
- Manage Bitdefender endpoint security — policy tuning, exclusions, incident response, and reporting
- Administer Kaseya VSA for remote monitoring, patching, and agent-based operations
- Own Google ecosystem administration — Google Workspace (legacy accounts retained for continuity), Google Ads, Google Play Store, and Apple App Store publishing accounts
- Handle onboarding, offboarding, access management, internal application installation, and first-line troubleshooting
- Maintain documentation, SOPs, security posture, and compliance controls
- Address the existing infrastructure backlog during the initial ramp-up period
Servers & systems administration
- Administer a predominantly RHEL-derivative Linux server estate (Rocky, AlmaLinux, RHEL, CentOS)
- Maintain a small number of Windows Server instances (primarily test environments)
- Support HA design, clustering, load balancing, backup, and disaster recovery planning
- Package and distribute system configuration and tooling via RPM Spec files
Cloud infrastructure
- Administer and maintain Datatrac's current Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) estate — compute, storage, networking, IAM, and cost management
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud networking — VPN, NGFW firewalls, DNS, load balancing, and network segmentation
Monitoring, logging & automation
- Lead the ongoing Zabbix rollout — replacing the legacy BigBrother monitoring platform across the Datatrac estate
- Maintain centralized logging via Syslog-ng and support observability across servers and cloud workloads
- Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform (or equivalent) for repeatable, reviewable environment changes
- Script systems configuration, monitoring, logging, and operational automation using Bash, Python, and Git-based workflows
Security & compliance
- Enforce MFA, conditional access, network segmentation, and DLP across the environment
- Partner with ESG IT leadership on Valsoft Minimum IT Security Standard compliance and audit readiness
- Contribute to security incident response, vulnerability triage, and patch management cadence
Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience in systems administration with strong Linux fundamentals and cloud infrastructure focus
- Deep, hands-on administration of RHEL-derivative Linux (Rocky, AlmaLinux, RHEL, CentOS) at an infrastructure level
- Working experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) — compute, networking, IAM, storage
- Demonstrated experience with cloud and hybrid networking — VPN, firewalls (Palo Alto/FortiGate/pfSense or similar), DNS, and segmentation
- Production experience with monitoring platforms — Zabbix preferred; exposure to migrating between monitoring stacks is a strong plus
- Scripting and automation proficiency in Bash and Python; comfortable working in Git-based collaboration workflows
- Experience packaging system configuration and tooling with RPM Spec files
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Intune administration
- Familiarity with endpoint security operations — Bitdefender preferred; exposure to other enterprise EDR platforms acceptable
- Experience with RMM/remote management tooling — Kaseya VSA preferred
- Comfort administering Google Workspace and app-store publishing accounts (Google Play, Apple App Store) is an asset
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- English proficiency — high-level written and spoken is mandatory
- AI proficiency — required
- In line with Valsoft's AI-native reinvestment initiative, this role requires genuine working fluency with AI tools. Candidates should be able to speak concretely about how they use AI in their current work — we are looking for someone who actively applies AI to accelerate infrastructure work, automate workflows, and solve complex problems faster.
- Active daily use of AI tools (Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent) in infrastructure and sysadmin workflows
- Experience using AI to assist with IaC generation, architecture review, runbook authoring, migration planning, or incident analysis
- Ability to identify where AI tooling can reduce operational toil across the environments they support
- Familiarity with AI/ML service integrations on AWS (Bedrock, SageMaker) or Azure (Azure OpenAI) is a strong advantage
Preferred skills
- Red Hat certifications — RHCSA, RHCE
- Microsoft certifications — AZ-104, AZ-305, or MS-500
- Experience leading cloud migrations (OCI / AWS or equivalent) end-to-end
- Infrastructure-as-Code in production: Terraform and/or CloudFormation
- Exposure to compliance frameworks — SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST
- Experience in a multi-company or portfolio IT environment
