JOB SUMMARY:
The Plant Manager will oversee the end-to-end factory operations, ensuring efficient production, quality excellence, food safety compliance, cost optimization, and continuous operational improvement. The role requires a strategic and hands-on leader capable of managing manufacturing operations within a fast-paced FMCG environment while driving productivity, operational efficiency, and team performance.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Plant Operations Management
• Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and operational KPIs are achieved.
• Oversee production planning, capacity utilization, maintenance scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Ensure smooth coordination across production, quality, maintenance, warehousing, and supply chain functions.
• Optimize operational workflows to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
Quality, Food Safety & Compliance
• Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, GMP, HACCP, ISO, and local regulatory requirements.
• Maintain high product quality standards through effective quality assurance and control processes.
• Lead corrective and preventive action initiatives related to operational and quality deviations.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards across the facility.
Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Monitor operational KPIs, identify process improvement opportunities, and implement optimization strategies.
• Lead automation, process enhancement, and operational transformation projects where applicable.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and operational excellence.
Team Leadership & Development
• Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional factory teams including production, engineering, maintenance, and quality personnel.
• Establish performance objectives and conduct regular performance evaluations.
• Promote employee engagement, teamwork, and a high-performance culture.
• Ensure workforce planning aligns with operational demands.
Budgeting & Cost Management
• Manage plant operating budgets, production costs, and resource utilization.
• Monitor raw material consumption, waste management, and operational expenses.
• Support procurement and inventory optimization initiatives to improve cost efficiency.
Reporting & Stakeholder Management
• Prepare operational reports, production analyses, and performance dashboards for senior management.
• Collaborate closely with commercial, procurement, finance, and supply chain teams to align operational priorities with business objectives.
• Support audits, certifications, and external inspections.
