Job Summary

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of payroll processing, maintaining consistency between the company's accounting systems, monitoring account movements, and supporting statutory compliance. The role also provides direct support to the Finance Manager in daily financial operations and reporting.


Key Responsibilities



- Prepare and process monthly employee payroll accurately and on time.
- Reconcile and maintain accurate balances between the company's two financial/accounting systems.
- Monitor and review all account movements to ensure transactions are correctly recorded and discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
- Prepare and submit payroll-related statutory obligations, including VAT, NSSF, employee taxes, and other required government filings.
- Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Perform regular account reconciliations and assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate financial records and documentation.
- Assist the Finance Manager with financial analysis, reporting, and other accounting tasks as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll and accounting processes and internal controls.
- Perform any additional finance and accounting duties assigned by management.


Qualifications



- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience in payroll processing and accounting.
- Good knowledge of VAT, payroll taxes, NSSF, and applicable labor regulations.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work under deadlines
