The Position:
Under the direct supervision of the GBV Programme Specialist, UNFPA Lebanon office, the intern will support the branch team in the areas of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) by programme planning, coordination, monitoring, documentation, research, and event organization. The role includes assisting with workplans, progress tracking, reporting, knowledge management, and resource mobilization efforts.
A work-plan with achievements for the duration of the Internship and learning opportunities will be agreed upon. Periodic progress meetings will lead to a beneficial environment for the Intern enhancing her/his skills and capacity in areas related to UNFPA’s mandate.

You would be responsible for:
- Support programme monitoring, reporting, and evaluation by:
- Supporting the preparation, review, and follow-up of annual workplans and activity plans with implementing partners.
- Assisting in tracking programme implementation by compiling updates on progress, challenges, and planned activities.
- Supporting coordination through scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action points.
- Supporting the preparation of programme documents, briefing notes, and other materials related to Gender and GBV interventions.
- Assisting in tracking programme implementation against workplans, indicators and expected outputs.
- Assisting in maintaining programme monitoring tools, databases, and tracking sheets.
- Providing logistical and administrative support in organizing training, workshops, consultations, and other events.
2. Contribute to knowledge management, documentation, and communication by:
- Supporting knowledge management by maintaining organized electronic programme files, documenting lessons learned, and contributing to the development of programme products.
- Conducting desk reviews and background research on gender equality, GBV prevention and response, and humanitarian protection issues.
- Assisting in documenting lessons learned, success stories, and good practices from programme implementation.
3. Support advocacy and resource mobilization efforts by:
The intern will also perform other programme-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor, consistent with learning objectives and the needs of the Gender-Based Violence Programme.
Qualifying for an Internship
All interns must meet the following educational and other eligibility requirements:
Educational requirements
a. Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as master’s programme or higher);
b. Have recently graduated with a university degree as defined above and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation; or
c. Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional trainee programme and undertake the internship as part of this programme.
Other eligibility requirements
d. Demonstrate interest in the field of development;
e. Demonstrate written and spoken proficiency in at least one of the working languages of the United Nations (English or French) and fluency in the official language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish) of the UNFPA office; and
f. Demonstrate ability to adapt to new environments and to establish and maintain good working relations with individuals of different cultural backgrounds.
You Have:
Your Education:
- Recent graduate or currently enrolled in a master's degree programme in Public Health, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Development Studies, or another relevant field.
Your Experiences:
- Some experience in working with development agencies, including in volunteer capacity.
- Fluency in English. Knowledge of other languages is an asset.
- Strong analytical and writing skills.
- Initiative, sound judgment and demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with staff members from different national and cultural backgrounds.

Upon completion of the assignment, and depending on its duration, the Intern will gain the following knowledge assets:

Financial Aspects:
Interns do not receive a salary or any other form of remuneration from UNFPA. The costs associated with an intern's participation in the programme must be assumed either by the nominating institution, which may provide the required financial assistance to its students, or by the students themselves, who will have to meet living expenses as well as make their own arrangements for accommodation, travel and other requirements. However, they receive a stipend to help cover basic daily expenses related to the internship, if not financially supported by any institution or programme, such as a university, government, foundation, or scholarship programme. The stipend is based on the intern’s agreed place of work, which may be different from the duty station of the hiring office in cases of remote arrangements.
In addition, applicants must have medical insurance for the duration of the internship. Proof of insurance will need to be submitted before the internship begins. UNFPA does not provide medical insurance for interns.

- دعم التنسيق من خلال جدولة الاجتماعات، إعداد الأجندة، تدوين المحاضر، والمتابعة على نقاط العمل.
- دعم إعداد وثائق البرنامج، وملخصات المعلومات، ومواد أخرى ذات صلة بتدخلات النوع والعنف القائم على النوع.
- المساعدة في تتبع تنفيذ البرنامج مقابل خطط العمل والمؤشرات والمخرجات المتوقعة.
- المساعدة في المحافظة على أدوات رصد البرنامج وقواعد البيانات وجداول التتبع.
- تقديم الدعم اللوجستي والإداري في تنظيم تدريب وورش عمل والاستشارات وغيرها من الفعاليات.
2. المساهمة في إدارة المعرفة والتوثيق والاتصال من خلال:
- دعم إدارة المعرفة من خلال الحفاظ على ملفات إلكترونية منظمة للبرنامج، وتوثيق الدروس المستفادة والمساهمة في تطوير منتجات البرنامج.
- إجراء مراجعات مكتبية وبحث خلفي حول المساواة بين الجنسين، والوقاية من العنف القائم على النوع والاستجابة له، وقضايا الحماية الإنسانية.
- المساعدة في توثيق الدروس المستفادة وقصص النجاح والممارسات الجيدة من تنفيذ البرنامج.
3. دعم الجهود المناصبية وتعبئة الموارد من خلال:
سي أدنج المتدربة أيضاً مهام أخرى متعلقة بالبرنامج كما يكلفها المشرف، بما يتوافق مع أهداف التعلم واحتياجات برنامج العنف القائم على النوع.
وجوب التأهيل للتدريب
يجب على جميع المتدرّبين استيفاء المتطلبات التعليمية وغيرها من شروط الأهلية التالية:
المتطلبات التعليمية
a. أن تكون مسجلة في برنامج درجة عليا (مثل برنامج الماجستير أو أعلى)؛
b. أن تكون قد تخرجت حديثاً بشهادة جامعية كما هو موضح أعلاه، وإذا تم اختيارها، يجب البدء في التدريب خلال سنة من التخرج؛ أو
c. أن تكون مسجلة في برنامج تدريبي مهني دراسي عالي وتقوم بالتدريب كجزء من هذا البرنامج.
متطلبات أهلية أخرى
d. إظهار الاهتمام بمجال التنمية؛
e. إظهار الكفاءة الكتابية والشفوية في إحدى لغات الأمم المتحدة العاملة (الإنجليزية أو الفرنسية) وإتقان اللغة الرسمية (العربية، الصينية، الإنجليزية، الفرنسية، الروسية أو الإسبانية) لمكتب صندوق الأمم المتحدة للسكان؛ و
f. إظهار القدرة على التكيف مع بيئات جديدة وتأسيس والحفاظ على علاقات عمل جيدة مع أفراد من خلفيات ثقافية مختلفة.

تعليمك:
- خريجة حديثة أو مسجلة حاليًا في برنامج ماجستير في الصحة العامة أو العلوم الاجتماعية أو دراسات النوع أو دراسات التنمية أو مجال ذي صلة.
خبراتك:

الجوانب المالية:
لا يتلقَّى المتدربون راتباً أو أي شكل آخر من التعويض من صندوق الأمم المتحدة للسكان. يجب على الجهة المرشحة أن تتحمل تكاليف مشاركة المتدرب في البرنامج، سواء كانت تدعمها المؤسسة المرشِحة لطلابها مالياً، أو يتحمل الطلاب أنفسهم تكاليف المعيشة والإقامة والسفر والمتطلبات الأخرى. مع ذلك، يتلقون راتباً يساعد في تغطية النفقات اليومية الأساسية المتعلقة بالتدريب، إذا لم تكن هناك دعم مالي من أي جهة أو برنامج، مثل جامعة أو حكومة أو مؤسسة أو برنامج منحة. يتم تحديد قيمة المنحة وفقاً لمكان عمل المتدرب المتفق عليه، والذي قد يختلف عن محطة عمل المكتب التعييني في حالات الترتيبات عن بعد.
