IT Support Officer

Job purpose summary:
The IT Support Officer will assist in providing technical support to end users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring smooth IT operations within the organization.

Required skills & qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Basic understanding of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Knowledge of common office productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL, or Microsoft certifications (preferred but not required).

Duties & responsibilities:
• Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Respond to IT support requests via phone, email, or ticketing system in a timely manner.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, and peripherals.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving network connectivity issues.
• Support software installation, updates, and patch management.
• Maintain accurate documentation of IT issues, resolutions, and inventory.
• Assist with IT security procedures, including password management and access controls.
• Collaborate with senior IT staff on projects and system upgrades.
• Provide basic training and guidance to end users on IT-related matters.
