Job Purpose:

The IT Officer at Pharmacists Medical Drugstore (PMD) is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all information technology systems, including hardware, software, networking, and security. The role supports both office and field employees by maintaining system reliability and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

IT Support & Troubleshooting

- Provide first-level technical support for all company users (hardware/software/network issues)
- Maintain and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and related hardware
- Install and configure software and hardware as per company standards
- Provide remote support for field staff when required

Network & Systems Administration

- Monitor and maintain the local area network (LAN), internet connectivity, and firewall performance
- Ensure regular backups of systems and critical data
- Manage user accounts and access rights across systems
- Maintain email systems and ensure data
security and confidentiality

Security & Compliance

- Implement and monitor cybersecurity protocols (antivirus, firewalls, data encryption, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with IT-related company policies and procedures
- Prevent unauthorized access and protect company data

ERP and Software Maintenance

- Administer and maintain ERP/CRM or inventory systems used in the drugstore
- Coordinate with software vendors for updates, bugs, and support issues
- Train staff on system usage and best practices

Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain documentation of system configurations, licenses, and procedures
- Prepare periodic reports on IT incidents, asset status, and system performance


Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in a similar IT support or systems role (preferably in a pharmaceutical or distribution company)
- Knowledge of networking, Windows/Mac OS, Microsoft Office, and antivirus systems
- Familiarity with ERP and warehouse/inventory systems is a plus
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
- Strong sense of confidentiality and data protection
