If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as the Senior Manager of Account Development - Clinical Logistics within DHL Supply Chain!

This role will oversee the commercial and contractual development of existing and new customer accounts while implementing ambitious sales strategies, not only to sustain but to expand and enlarge the customers base. With a particular focus on growing business and capturing market share penetration in our market segment, achieving net growth, revenue, profitability and service targets for key accounts.

What are the Key Accountabilities?

  • Provide input to developing key account strategy as well as new business, including account planning, revenue targets, and service goals
  • Plan, oversee, and deliver sales objectives for strategic market segments and accounts across a region or globally
  • Lead and control all sales activities and initiatives, including contract negotiations for assigned key accounts
  • Build relationships with existing and potential customers, associated networks, and support functions in order to develop business and partnerships
  • Identify decision-makers, negotiate proposals, solutions and pricing including customer contracts, promoting brand awareness, and resolving issues
  • Ensure business growth and profitability through key account retention and development, as well as new business acquisition
  • Direct and supervise a team to achieve goals by assigning work, timelines, reviewing output, and managing performance
  • Recruit, motivate, develop, and coach team members
  • Develop strong management capability through effective performance management, mentoring, and development of the team
  • Communicate and influence senior business leaders outside of own job area
  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with senior business leaders across DHL
  • Cooperate with and coordinate 3rd parties, e.g., external service providers

What are we looking for from you?

We are seeking candidates with extensive proven experience in logistics, particularly within the Life Sciences and Healthcare (LSH) sector and a strong track record in business development with existing and new customers. Ideal applicants will have demonstrated expertise in complex negotiations, contract renewals, and managing LSH accounts, including contractual negotiations. A solid understanding of customer trends and needs within LSH and Clinical Trials Logistics (CTL) is essential, complemented by a robust knowledge of sales with large and global customers.

Candidates should also possess a strong background in managing sales CRM systems, particularly Salesforce, overseeing all aspects of account growth and new business from business case to contract signature. Additionally, prior stakeholder management experience on a global scale is crucial, as is the ability to effectively manage remote teams across different time zones and regions.
