Junior Accountant

The Junior Accountant is responsible for assisting the accounting department in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and supporting various accounting functions such as accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounts Payable & Receivable:
o Assist in processing incoming and outgoing invoices.
o Help track payments and receipts, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
o Follow up with vendors and customers for payment issues or discrepancies.
2. Bank Reconciliations:
o Assist in performing regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between bank statements and company records.
o Resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
3. General Ledger Maintenance:
o Help maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries for routine transactions.
o Assist in categorizing and reconciling accounts to ensure financial statements are accurate.
4. Ad-Hoc Tasks:
o Assist with various finance and accounting-related projects as needed.
o Provide general administrative support to the accounting team.
Qualifications:
• Education:
o A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Experience:
o Minimum one year experience in same position.
• Skills & Competencies:
o Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
o Familiarity with accounting software
o Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), especially Excel.
o Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
o Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
o Good communication and interpersonal skills.
o Strong problem-solving abilities and a willingness to learn.
