Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Local Buyer to join our Procurement Department. In this role, you will source, negotiate, and purchase items and spare parts from local markets while ensuring alignment with MEP’s cost, quality, and delivery targets. Reporting to the Procurement Engineer/Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting procurement operations and maintaining supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
- Purchase items and spare parts in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
- Act as a liaison between local suppliers and procurement departments to ensure smooth purchasing operations.
- Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships, fostering effective communication.
- Monitor and report supply issues that may impact operations.
- Track market trends, competitor strategies, and evaluate local suppliers.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, delivery, and contract terms.
- Prepare offer evaluations and provide detailed reports for the Procurement Engineer.
- Support the procurement department with updates and related duties as assigned.
- Adhere to MEP’s QMS and OHSMS standards, including reporting non-conformities and ensuring the use of PPE as required.

Qualifications:
- Education: Practical experience in purchasing or a related field preferred.
- Language: Proficiency in local languages, both spoken and written.
- Experience: Relevant practical/work experience in purchasing is an advantage.

Work Conditions:
Role based in a Renewable Energy (RE) power plant environment.
Potential exposure to emissions, hot gases/steam, flammable substances, and heavy machinery.
