Job Summary

The Purchasing & Cost Control Officer is responsible for managing purchasing activities while monitoring and controlling costs to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with company policies. The role requires coordination with suppliers, internal departments, and the finance team to optimize procurement processes and control expenses.

Key Responsibilities
Purchasing Responsibilities

Manage and execute purchase orders in accordance with approved requests and budgets.

Source suppliers, request quotations, and negotiate prices and terms.

Ensure timely delivery of materials, services, and supplies.

Maintain accurate records of purchases, suppliers, and contracts.

Coordinate with warehouse and departments to ensure correct quantities and quality.

Cost Control Responsibilities

Monitor purchasing costs and compare them against budgets.

Review supplier invoices and ensure accuracy before submission to accounting.

Analyze price variations, cost trends, and consumption levels.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and report them to management.

Ensure compliance with internal cost control procedures and approval matrices.

Accounting & Coordination

Work closely with the accounting team to ensure proper cost allocation.

Assist in monthly cost reports and purchase analysis.

Ensure all purchasing documents are properly filed and traceable.

Support internal and external audits related to purchasing and costs.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or cost control.

Good knowledge of basic accounting principles.

Strong negotiation and analytical skills.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or retail environments.

Understanding of inventory control and supplier management
