Job Summary: METS Energy is seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Generator Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing diesel generators to ensure the highest level of operational efficiency. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and longevity of the diesel power generation systems we provide to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnosis and Troubleshooting:
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in diesel generators using advanced tools and techniques.
Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance.
Interpret error codes, assess system performance, and troubleshoot problems.
Maintenance and Repairs:
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on diesel generators, including changing filters, oil, and other essential components.
Repair and replace damaged parts such as pumps, valves, bearings, and electrical components.
Overhaul engines, fuel systems, exhaust systems, and cooling systems.
Testing and Calibration:
Conduct performance tests on generators to ensure they meet operational standards.
Calibrate fuel, ignition, and exhaust systems to maintain engine efficiency.
Run load tests to evaluate generator output and reliability.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow industry safety standards, procedures, and regulations while working on diesel generators.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols.
Ensure all work is done in compliance with local regulations and manufacturer’s recommendations.
Documentation and Reporting:
Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
Report any unusual performance issues to the management team for further evaluation.
Maintain up-to-date records of generator service histories.
Customer Support:
Provide technical support to clients in diagnosing and troubleshooting generator issues.
Offer recommendations for operational improvements or necessary repairs.
Provide training or advice to junior staff on diesel generator operations and maintenance.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience (5 years) in the maintenance and repair of diesel generators.
Strong understanding of diesel engine mechanics, electrical systems, and control panels.
Familiarity with diagnostic tools, engine overhauls, and testing equipment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication skills and ability to interact with clients.
Knowledge of safety regulations and maintenance best practices
