Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced RFQ Specialist to lead the setup and operations of a new U.S.-based export and trading company. This is not an entry-level or training role. Please apply only if you have direct experience in RFQ, procurement, and export operations — ideally in or with GCC countries (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain) or other international markets.
You will play a key role in building the company’s full export operations from the ground up — including supplier sourcing, client outreach, software selection, and RFQ/bid management. We are looking for someone who can plan, execute, and manage all aspects of the business with minimal supervision.
If you have previously worked in supply chain, procurement, or export management, and understand how to bid, quote, and win contracts internationally, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
RFQ Operations & Setup
- Establish and manage RFQ (Request for Quotation) systems and processes.
- Identify and onboard reliable U.S. suppliers and manufacturers for high-demand export products.
- Create standardized RFQ templates, workflows, and compliance checklists.
- Develop pricing and quotation systems for international buyers.
Market Expansion & Client Acquisition
- Research and target international clients, particularly in the GCC, Africa, and Asia.
- Lead B2B outreach campaigns, identify business opportunities, and bid on export contracts.
- Build long-term relationships with clients and distributors abroad.
- Assist in marketing efforts to promote products and services globally.
Systems & Operations
- Recommend and implement RFQ/Procurement software (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, custom-built systems).
- Integrate CRM and automation tools for lead tracking, quotation management, and supplier communication.
- Collaborate with management to define business structure, SOPs, and remote team workflows.
Supply Chain & Logistics
- Coordinate export documentation, compliance, and freight logistics.
- Work with freight forwarders and logistics providers to ensure cost efficiency and timely delivery.
- Oversee international trade compliance for U.S. exports (product classification, regulations, etc.).
Skills
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of proven experience in RFQ, procurement, or export operations.
Strong understanding of international trade, supply chain management, and export documentation.
Experience working with GCC countries or overseas clients is highly preferred.
Familiarity with RFQ software, CRM tools, and automation workflows.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently, lead setup operations, and make executive recommendations.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in bidding for contracts, tenders, or government RFQs.
- Existing network or knowledge of GCC importers, distributors, or resellers.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, supplier databases, and trade platforms (e.g., ThomasNet, Alibaba, Tradewheel).
- Background in engineering, logistics, or supply chain preferred.
Role Type & Duration
- Project-Based (with potential to transition into a long-term strategic role).
- Remote position — must be available for meetings in U.S. business hours.
