Job summary

The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring product quality and packaging standards are met throughout the production process. This role involves visual inspection, line packing, production tracking, and maintaining safety and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential duties & responsibilities

• Observe machine operations to ensure product quality and packaging conformity
• Perform visual inspections and remove defective products from the production line
• Package finished products into containers according to specifications
• Stop machines during malfunctions and immediately notify the operator or supervisor
• Stamp finished goods with assigned packer ID number
• Pack sleeved products from multiple production lines into corrugated cases, seal (tape), and stack on pallets
• Perform housekeeping duties to maintain safety, quality, and cleanliness standards
• Follow all company safety, quality, and operational procedures
• Perform additional related duties as assigned by the lead person or supervisor

Job specifications

Education & experience:

• High school diploma or GED required

Skills & abilities:

• Mathematical skills: basic math proficiency
• Mechanical skills: basic understanding of machinery and production processes
• Communication skills:
  • Ability to read, write, and understand basic English
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and management
  • Ability to work professionally under pressure
• Reasoning ability:
  • Ability to make decisions based on established guidelines regarding defective products and operational issues

Physical demands

• Minimum 8-hour shifts with possible overtime
• Continuous standing and walking throughout the shift
• Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of 20–40 lbs (up to 20 times per hour)
• Occasional overhead lifting of 20–40 lbs
• Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching

Work environment

• Constant noise levels above 85 dB
• Continuous exposure to dry and dusty (paper) conditions
• Regular work around machinery and forklifts
• Safety glasses and hearing protection required at all times
• Possible exposure to temperature extremes depending on outside conditions
